EXPECTING A BABY? WE'RE HERE TO HELP.
Adjusting to new life after the birth of a baby can be a tough transition. Beyond the Bump is a postpartum program that supports women through cooking, cleaning, and community. We've all heard that it takes a village to raise a child, and we want to make sure that every mom has a village.
WHO WE ARE + who we serve
Like most community based programs, Beyond the Bump was born from gaps that we saw within our community and social support systems. We view the 4th trimester as a sacred time between a mother and her newborn. We want to ensure that every mom is well supported, nurtured, and care for during this time so that she can thrive in her new role as a mother.
Studies show that moms that have a solid, social support network are more likely to develop a deeper bond and attachment with their baby, gain confidence in their ability to care for their baby, recover more quickly from childbirth, have lower rates of postpartum depression, and have higher success rates of breastfeeding.
We strive to provide support to expectant moms that may need extra support. Women that are facing financial barriers, that are emotionally or socially isolated, that are struggling with mental health and/or addictions, or that are fleeing abuse, will always be given priority.
Our program aims to meet the needs of new moms through cooking, cleaning, and community.
